This Will Be Controversial - I've Been Plexus Slim-ing...

I wanted to try it. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.  I wanted to see WHY in a matter of 2 weeks, I had been added to THREE Plexus Slim groups on the Face.
So. I did. I tried it for a month.
I got a bag of the pink stuff and the Accelerator from my buddy Jamie.  It's been a month - and here's what I think:

Did I lose weight?  No.  I mean - I'm not actually sure.  My scale broke and we haven't replaced it because I got a little cray cray and was weighing myself every day and in no way is that healthy.

Have I gained weight since the wedding?  Also No.  Not really.  I've cut down my working out from 5 days a week to 2 -so I've lost some muscle and am a little more jiggly around the middle, but I DO believe it could be worse if not for Plexus Slim.

Does the pink stuff really help my cravings?  For the love of pink, it actually does.  I drink mine in the morning, Jamie drinks hers at night....and don't you know, the 'ish works.

Does the Accelerator curb my appetite? Yup. It actually does! I can actually tell the difference on the days I forget to take it.  Honest!

Bottom line: I didn't want it to work.  I wanted to say "This is a pyramid scheme lie!" It may be a pyramid scheme - but, don't be a hater, I'm signing up for a 2nd month.

Is this a miracle cure for fat? Of course not. That doesn't exists.  You have to eat right. You have to exercise. You have to be accountable for what you put in your body.  Taking a pill is not going to replace an hour in the gym. It's not. Ever. No pill will ever do that. So stop taking pills for asthmatic horses. (In case you didn't know, that's how post-Simple Life Nicole Richie got scary thin..and other celebrities I can't think of right now.)  Does this help the overall cause? In my experience, you betcha.

I don't know the ins and outs of Herbalife - but I feel like this isn't much different.  As far as I can see, and everything I've read, tells me that this is plant-based.  There's no science to back up the ingredients. If that freaks you out - then your answer is pretty simple - don't buy it.  If you need something to help get you started on a healthy eating and fitness routine - try it for a month and see how you feel.

I'm not selling this stuff - and I'm sure you can ask the next 5 people you see and they will know 10 people selling it - so it's not hard to get.  But you can buy from my friend Jamie by going to and searching for Jamie Schneider.  If she has an actual website - I'll get that to you in an update.

So let the comments of people telling me how horrible this is begin. I'm ready for you, haters :)

*In other news: I'm signing up for some online nutrition classes, because ain't nobody got time for classroom sittin'. I'm working on expanding UFG into a local meal delivery service. This won't happen overnight, and will be a process.  I need a) nutrition classes b) a new website (will trade meals for a site! seriously!) c) access to a commercial kitchen and d) some funding and some guinea pigs.  
If you're up for being a guinea pig, let's meet and discuss!  Be on the lookout for some kind of kickstarter thang once I finish my classes, website and business plan.  So.. to be continued...*

Whole Wheat Pancakes

I'm baaaaaaaaack!
SO much has been going on! New(ish) job, 4 months until the wedding, and a new exercise routine! Friends - I've discovered spinning.  Big shout out to friends AK and Shannon for the introduction.  I'm hooked.  It's amazing.  I've never sweat so much in my life - and during last night's class, burned a not-to-shabby 850 calories! Can't beat it.   Changing up my routine has helped so much.  I definitely don't regret joining the YMCA.
Today's recipe! I love pancakes. Love love love.  These are great.  Just as easy as a box mix, and you've controlled all the ingredients! The Mailman doesn't love fruit pancakes, so we ate ours plain, but these are just screaming out for some blueberries or bananas.  (PS - don't forget to a - use REAL maple syrup - none of that gross sugar free stuff, it's chemicals! and b- limit the syrup you use! Try simmering the syrup with blueberries or other fruit to get more bang for your buck. )
